Welcome to my website, which brings together some information on my various activities. On this site, I concentrate on my jazz writings, and in particular my biographies on Chet Baker and Ben Webster. After their initial Dutch editions (in 1989 and 1992, respectively), updated translations were published and in 2005, the Chet bio made it into Japan.

During the last few years, I have been working intensively on a thoroughly updated and expanded edition of my book about Chet Baker. It includes new interviews and every relevant detail that reached me since the first edition, and was published in Dutch in October 2007. This year, I published a collection of interviews, called 'Go Man, Go! / In de coulissen van de jazz'. Kind of the highlights of thirty years of jazz writing. It features twenty jazz giants and is available from April 2009 on. You can find more information on the 'Books'-page.

For information on the newspaper I work for, you may go to www.ad.nl/utrecht/. As I am employed almost fulltime, my newspaper output is too varied and voluminous to be presented here.

You will also find some poetry and details about my bass playing here; hobbies I indulge in, without any professional pretense.
